SAC Imaging SAC8.2 TEC cooled B&W CCD camera, great condition, selling for upgrade. This camera is easy to use and it is a good introduction to astrophotography. The camera use a ICX254AL Sony EX-VIEW HAD sensor with dimensions of 6.1x3.6 mm (similar to an ST-7 from SBIG).
Using a Sony EX-VIEW HAD black and white ccd chip the SAC8.2 is much more sensitive than competitors cameras using the Sony HAD or SUPER HAD ccd chips. The SAC8.2 is a Peltier cooled long exposure imager and can image to the absolute photographic limit of your scope in less time than any camera.
Images are acquired in seconds not minutes! I used it with my Pentax 75 SDHF; 15 seconds of integration time is the maximum that I have used for doing astrophotos. This speed facilitates the narrowband imaging.
The camera have a live video function which facilitates the focus operation.
Great dynamic range is done by using 32bit FITs files for the image. The items are: camera with nose 31.8 mm and nose cap; control-box; cables (USB and bi-directional parallel port); 12 Volt plug.
For a complete package this item is sold with a notebook (Pentium 4, 2.2Ghz, 2GB-Ram, 100GB-HD, Win-XP with SAC8.2 driver pre-installed) with usb and parallel ports. Only the battery is out of order but easely repleaceble with a search on internet.
The package comes ready to image at prime focus right out of the box. Paypal preferred.
